美國一名32歲的女子紐金特(Autumn Nugent)感染新冠肺炎後四肢發生血栓,讓她被迫截肢。育有3名子女的紐金特找上了美國內科醫師伊利(Wesley Ely)分享自己的故事,希望能藉由自身經歷,呼籲大家趕快去接種新冠疫苗。
根據外媒報導,伊利醫師在推特分享紐金特穿戴義肢行動的畫面,「COVID-19是一種血管疾病,」他說,「甚至可能影響患者的心肺、大腦或其他任何器官,當重要器官產生血栓後可能因此喪命。」
伊利醫師表示,紐金特的案例是四肢都發生血栓,為了保命,她必須有所犧牲;在截肢手術後,這名堅強的母親每天還得服用至少12種不同藥物,這對一個人的身心都會有很大的影響。
「紐金特希望我分享她的故事,希望藉此讓其他人願意接種疫苗」,伊利醫師也提到,在這次的療程裡,自己和紐金特變得相當親近,更將這名年輕母親視為自己的女兒,對方也以「爸爸」來稱呼自己。
